Carl Soderman Was Named The New President Of ZAP Engineering And Construction Services Inc.

Soderman joins ZAP Engineering and Construction Services, Inc. as a recognized leader in engineering and operations with over 30 years of experience in the natural gas industry. His responsibilities have included engineering management, operations management, project development, project management and operations engineering. In directing groups in a leadership role, responsibilities have included asset planning and development, asset optimization, acquisition and merger due diligence and integration, and project delivery.

After graduating from University of Texas of Austin in 1979 his exceptional career background progressed from Project Engineer with Brown and Root to Manager of Operations, Process Engineering Manager to Vice President of Engineering with DCP Midstream.

Save Energy and Save Lives by Reducing Your Water Temperature

This is considered a safer temperature for adults and will help prevent these unnecessary deaths and injuries.

What’s the best way to limit water temperatures?

The most effective way of delivering safe hot water temperatures is by using a thermostatic mixing valve (TMV). A TMV will take the stored hot water and mix it in the correct proportions with the cold water supply to deliver a safe, stable temperature at point of use, whether it is a bath or basin.

How They Work
Demand water heaters heat water directly without the use of a storage tank. Therefore, they avoid the standby heat losses associated with storage tanks. When a hot water tap is turned on, cold water travels through a pipe into the unit. Either a gas burner or an electric element heats the water. As a result, demand water heaters deliver a constant supply of hot water. You don’t need to wait for a storage tank to fill up with enough hot water. However, a demand water heater’s output limits the flow rate.

Typically, demand water heaters provide hot water at a rate of 2–5 gallons (7.6–15.2 liters) per minute. Gas-fired demand water heaters produce higher flow rates than electric ones. Sometimes, however, even the largest, gas-fired model cannot supply enough hot water for simultaneous, multiple uses in large households. For example, taking a shower and running the dishwasher at the same time can stretch a demand water heater to its limit.
